Business Technology Integrators (BTI) in Upper Marlboro, MD, is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect/Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team on a part-time basis (16-20 ) hours per week) at our corporate office.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on cloud technologies, middleware, microservices, streaming, and databases to develop comprehensive technical solutions. Building a searchable/reusable knowledge base as solution examples grow.

2. Work alongside other technical stakeholders to ensure that solution designs align with cloud and infrastructure standards. Verifying along the way specific federal and state policies, compliance requirements, accessibility specifics (508) and other specific requirements.

3. Design and implement infrastructure solutions utilizing public and private cloud services, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, ensuring adherence to security requirements and technical standards. (e.g. FedRamp)

4. Participate in the solutioning of off-the-shelf products and integrations. Including application, data and data solution. (SaaS or otherwise)

5. Collaborate on solutions that leverage AI/ML capabilities, optimizing them for performance, scalability, and efficient use of cloud resources. Providing insights and solutions for clients, internal operations and internal infrastructure.

6. Identify and mitigate technical risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies throughout the solution development process. (internal and client)

7. Develop and articulate cloud-native technical solutions tailored to meet specific customer needs, including compliance with government IT standards and policies.

8. Create and maintain templates for RFIs/RFQs solution responses, using them to extract requirements and inform the development of solution strategies and technical/process documentation. Developing, suggesting or implementing tools for auditing, tracking, sharing and updating.

9. Create, improve, and communicate processes surrounding Dev/QA automation, software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and similar best practices. Document the established processes for ongoing reference. Make the processes portable to facilitate team ramp up, implementation at a client site or distributed to Joint Venture opportunities.

10. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging technologies, frameworks for middleware, and practices around data ingestion, publishing, and master data management, including tools like Snowflake and equivalent technologies. Broker proposals to use new technologies and solutions to improve customer value, delivery and innovation.

Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. 10+ years of progressive experience in various IT disciplines, with a focus on cloud architecture, middleware technologies, and full stack development.

3. Proven experience developing cloud & IT solution solutions in collaboration with multiple stakeholders across various projects. Ensuring the portability, performance and reuse of design artifacts.

4. Strong familiarity with solution design principles, system development methodologies, and software life cycles.

5. Experience creating solution input for proposals in response to customer-provided RFQ/RFI requests and the associated templates necessary to ensure effective communication of requirements and solutioning.

6. Deep understanding of cloud security principles, alongside network security, with practical knowledge to design and implement secure cloud solutions.

7. Experience deploying solution to high trust cloud environments and supporting solution monitoring, auditing and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a significant advantage.

2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to evaluate and address complex technical requirements.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a capacity to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

4. Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

5. Familiarity with Agile and PMI methodologies, along with an ability to contribute to team dynamics effectively.

6. Strong experience delivering to and providing solutions for large government agencies.(e.g. HUD, IRS, VA, etc.)

7. Leadership level communication and collaboration experience in the development of incremental project deliver and growth strategies and roadmaps.
