Business Technology Integrators (BTI) Government contracting company located in Upper Marlboro MD, We are seeking a qualified Field Support / Server Technicians  to join our IT team. The technicians will be responsible for the physical relocation, setup, and support of IT equipment including servers, network hardware, and peripherals. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and a commitment to delivering excellent field support service.

Key Responsibilities:
 

1. Provide services to move data center cabinets and equipment to new locations in support of construction activities. 

2. Provide services including consultation, planning, and coordination. Communicate, and coordinate move activities with the VA Medical Center Facilities Management Service (FMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), and Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

3. Coordinate and assist with the disconnect and disassembly of the data center cabinets/equipment at the specified location, relocate, rack/stack and connect equipment in accordance with the implementation plan developed through coordination with the VA OIT Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) at the new location.

4. Provide all labor, materials, and equipment needed to move cabinets and equipment.

5. Coordinate with the VA Medical Center FMS and OIT before executing moves of cabinets and other associated heavy loads. 

6. Collaborate with FMS and OIT at the site to identify schedule and construction constraints. Collaborate with team to maintain IT operational readiness.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience performing similar field or server support work.

• Completion of formal technical training such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, or similar), Cisco Certified Technician (CCT), or equivalent.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Technician).

• Experience supporting enterprise-level IT environments.

• Familiarity with data center best practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] and perform physical tasks related to moving and installing IT equipment.
