Business Technology Integrators (BTI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with over 25 years of experience delivering innovative IT solutions to the Federal Government, is seeking a Lead UX/IX Designer to support DHS US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
Responsibilities:
The Lead UX/IX Designer shall lead the user experience and user interaction design of complex, enterprise-level, services and systems.
Lead will comfortably and effectively work very closely with USCIS staff and other DevSecOps team members (business analyst (BAs), user experience/interaction (UX/IX) designers, engineers, and technical leads) to design solutions that meet business objectives.
Lead UX/IX Designers will be expected to gain an understanding of the functional and technical landscape so they can effectively design solutions that benefit users.
Will serve as consultants capable of helping USCIS business representatives, subject matter experts (SME) and other non-designers understand the essential role of design in product development and as needed, suggesting organizational tactics for improving design solutions.
Will collaborate with other UX professionals across all DevSecOps teams to develop standards and craft solutions that address user problems.
Will be responsible for working in collaboration and alignment with other Lead UX/IX Designers on the technical direction and standard framework for building out design-led solutions.
DHS requires Section 508-compliant user interfaces.
Lead UX/IX Designers will be responsible ensuring and maintaining compliance with Section 508 design and content standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or substitute additional years of related experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the IT field focusing on development projects of which three (3) years shall be in architecture and design of UX/IX for enterprise applications.
Shall have a strong understanding and work experience in the design of complex, enterprise-level, services, and systems.
Must be excellent collaborators and communicators who will comfortably and effectively work very closely with client and contractor staff.
Must be well-versed in interaction design theories and can create prototypes with HTML and CSS or utilizing an online presentation tool such as Figma.
